BASEMENT IN PROGRESS
Here are some updated images so you can share the excitement with me. The floors turned out very well. The walls are painted and as soon as we can afford lights we will be ready for our first show. The darkroom is going to go in the "in progress room" in the basement. It has bee so much work and we are getting closer every day. NAMES? ANYONE?

Gallery Update
I know it has been far too long since I have posted an update. I have been extrememly busy between my day job (overwhelming as usual), getting the new space done and my personal life. The floors are being sanded this week so I now have an excuse to do the laundry and perhaps kick my feet up for five minutes.
Jessica and I have taken down the dropped cieling, ripped out old electric pipes, tore out rotted wood, removed all garbage and dirt, painted the walls and cieling (which is a beautiful pressed tin) and fixed coutless items. I have also been in the basement with Phil getting the place ready for darkroom construction. We have decided to build a wood sink and seal it with fiberglass and epoxy. The only two structres in the basement at this time is an ancient gravity furnace and a small and scary bathroom. We are going to work around the furnace and remodel the bathroom to include a changing area and some storage. So far the basement has been mostly dry and that is good news! I was worried about this. I have patched the walls and placed in some structural reinforcement. Phil is cutting the plywood at his house and hopefully by next week we should have the sink together! Next is electrical. I don't know where I am going to come up with the cash to pay for it but it is completelly necessary. 21 days into this project and I am in awe of how good things are going.
NAME: ideas? please send them to me. We have been so busy with construction that we have not had time to think of a name.....
I will post updated photos with the new renovations, but here are a few from the first week:

We got the keys on Thursday March 1st as a huge snowstorm rolled in. Jessica and I made plans to meet there after work. Peter and I slapped on our cross country skis and raced over there to meet her and her husband Jeremy- they have four wheel drive. Since then we have done a lot of deconstruction. The space is almost completely empty, ready for painting! Phil has been a huge help with advice and helping hands. We will start the sink construction next week and hopefully be printing photos in two weeks! No name for space yet. Any ideas? Send them to my email: janell@ascheandspencer.com
