I wish it would snow!

I took this picture last winter. I wish it would snow now, but the forecast looks bleak with more global warming that has turned our winter into a long dull brown boring blur....

Dawn & Rusty are leaving for China in the morning and spending the night at our house so they can access the Minneapolis airport quickly! This means we will get to soak up some of their pre-travel excitement then meet Sophia upon their exhaustive return. I feel so lucky to be part of the Sophia story!
Peter's father and brother (Paul & John) came over to our house yesterday for lunch. I made homemade tomato basil soup, bread, salad and Peter cooked chicken Satay on the grill. After lunch we headed downtown to see John's new office and bum around downtown. It was a really nice afternoon. This was the first meal prepared for my "father-in-law". I honestly enjoyed it.

This week is a short week at my office. I will be done on Wed. 12/20 at 5pm, not returning to the office until Jan2nd! But I will stay in touch over the internet. Expect some more postings!

What a cute Dog!

So far so good with Bella. Everyone that meets her on our walks says 'what a cute dog' (or puppy)! We have been enjoying her playful attitude and cudly down time, but the snoring-It is loud! Do me a favor. Look at this photo.. cute right? She snores like 300lb man passed out after a night of wiskey drinking! Dawn warned me and I think Bella is almost as lound as Big Dog, although Big had some real base in his snore. Besides feeling like we have our grandpa in our house at night this little cute dog has stolen our hearts.

Peter Vircks announces plans to record! Hooray!

I am so happy for Peter. He has decided to record several of his compositions in early 2007. He is an intelligent and thoughtful composer. Hopefully there is enough time and money to complete an album. I will keep you all updated with his progress. With patience, persistence and grace good things will surely come. It is not like winning the lottery but i feel rich with Peter in my life. He has endless creativity and imagination and limitless love to give. Let's all light a candle for his upcoming studio adventure.

A new day a new Bella!

Thank you Dawn, Rusty and Jurnee for sharing your friend Bella with Peter and I.
It really is nice having a dog in the house again. Last week we took care of Eileen's dog Bella and after she left we were completely ready for this one. I was a bit nervous about the 'litte dog' energy- but the new Bella has an old soul. She is easily trainable and fun to walk. I hope our friendship with her lasts for many years.

Thankful for the Sunrise

I woke early on Thanksgiving morning to go for a sunrise walk. It was the most beautiful morning I think I have ever felt. The air was warm and soft and the sky on fire with energy. I thanked the universe for such a wonderful gift and walked until the sky faded to a a pale light blue and the day began. For just a moment I felt like i was the only person awake in Minneapolis.

Friday at last.

It must be the early darkness that keeps us all focused on work. The projects at Asche & Spencer have been more demanding than ever. We did however see one of our biggest spots air:

I'll post more spots as they are completed.
Peter sent me flowers for my birthday last week and they still look beautiful. The daisy. A welcome flower this time of year. We are also watching the worlds sweetest dog.. BELLA REDWOOD. Eileen's dog. She is staying with us for one week. I brought her to my office today and she is getting a lot of love from the composers. This is good practice for Dawn's Bella that we are looking forward to hosting soon. Can't wait actually. It is comforting to have a dog in the house again.
Tonight Peter is performing with the Park Evans quartet. They released a CD last weekend. If you are interested in a copy you order it at CD Baby. Check out Park's very outdated site: http://www.parkevans.com
The CD is very good- of course!

November weekend

November is my favorite month, although you will hear me say that in June and in September and sometimes in May.

Birthday, Thanks Mom.

I woke up to a wonderfully perfect November day. The sky is the color of snow and the air smells good with the morning freeze. I wish I had the day off. I would practice my bassoon, start a new sewing project and bake cookies. But it is Friday, a work day and I am here in beautiful downtown Minneapolis. Today will be a good day. I turn 34 at 3:00 (ish) PM CST. Thank you mom.

The Beginning....

This is the first post for me. Hopefully the start of a new beginning. First of all a huge thanks to the people who inspire me- My Sister Dawn, Tanya my favorite Yogini and Hollye who rules the cool. I am setting reasonable goals for myself, keeping healthy and making the best of everyday. Life is beautiful.
