I wish it would snow!

I took this picture last winter. I wish it would snow now, but the forecast looks bleak with more global warming that has turned our winter into a long dull brown boring blur....

Dawn & Rusty are leaving for China in the morning and spending the night at our house so they can access the Minneapolis airport quickly! This means we will get to soak up some of their pre-travel excitement then meet Sophia upon their exhaustive return. I feel so lucky to be part of the Sophia story!
Peter's father and brother (Paul & John) came over to our house yesterday for lunch. I made homemade tomato basil soup, bread, salad and Peter cooked chicken Satay on the grill. After lunch we headed downtown to see John's new office and bum around downtown. It was a really nice afternoon. This was the first meal prepared for my "father-in-law". I honestly enjoyed it.

This week is a short week at my office. I will be done on Wed. 12/20 at 5pm, not returning to the office until Jan2nd! But I will stay in touch over the internet. Expect some more postings!

What a cute Dog!

So far so good with Bella. Everyone that meets her on our walks says 'what a cute dog' (or puppy)! We have been enjoying her playful attitude and cudly down time, but the snoring-It is loud! Do me a favor. Look at this photo.. cute right? She snores like 300lb man passed out after a night of wiskey drinking! Dawn warned me and I think Bella is almost as lound as Big Dog, although Big had some real base in his snore. Besides feeling like we have our grandpa in our house at night this little cute dog has stolen our hearts.

Peter Vircks announces plans to record! Hooray!

I am so happy for Peter. He has decided to record several of his compositions in early 2007. He is an intelligent and thoughtful composer. Hopefully there is enough time and money to complete an album. I will keep you all updated with his progress. With patience, persistence and grace good things will surely come. It is not like winning the lottery but i feel rich with Peter in my life. He has endless creativity and imagination and limitless love to give. Let's all light a candle for his upcoming studio adventure.

A new day a new Bella!

Thank you Dawn, Rusty and Jurnee for sharing your friend Bella with Peter and I.
It really is nice having a dog in the house again. Last week we took care of Eileen's dog Bella and after she left we were completely ready for this one. I was a bit nervous about the 'litte dog' energy- but the new Bella has an old soul. She is easily trainable and fun to walk. I hope our friendship with her lasts for many years.
